Recycled Spoons Projects: Top Ten

Somehow we've ended up with a whole bunch of random spoons in our utensil drawer. I'm not sure if they've come home from school with Cymone, or if they're left from various potlucks we've hosted. They can either be donated to our second hand store or recycled into an art project of some sort. Knowing me, I'll go with the latter option. So, what kinds of ideas are looming out there that I can draw from?

I found these ten inspiring projects to share with you:

1.
There are all sorts of creative hooks made with recycled utensils. Live Laugh Love makes hooks with sterling silver spoons and hammers inspirational words into each one.

2.
Precious metal is very expensive nowadays. As a budget-friendly alternative, why not reshape a spoon into wearable art? Jill D Designs creates unique pendants with recycled silver spoons.

3.
Spoon herb markers are suddenly a popular craft. To make them on your own, Shrimp Salads Circus gives us a simple tutorial to follow. Otherwise, you can purchase a set already made by Hammerman.

4.
Wendy Sollod transforms otherwise generic pots, pans, utensils and other recycled kitchen odds and ends into fabulous masks.

5.
Spoons are often integrated into funky wind chimes, chandeliers, or other things that hang and clink. Empress M shows us an exquisite example of a spoon chandelier.

6.
Perhaps my spoons can be used to pass along a simple message to someone I love. For Such A Time Designs creates personalized messages for special days such as birthdays, engagements, and pregnancies.

7.
If the spoons are used, what can be done with the handles so they're not discarded? Imagine the possibilities! Les Christensen creates graceful sculptures with spoon handles, shared with us by Bytes.

8.
If you're working on a mosaic, think about incorporating spoons into your colorful piece. Melissa's Motifs shows us a beautiful example.

9.
Erin Lynch bends spoons and mounts them to recycled barn wood to make eclectic candle racks.

10.
Last, but not least...actually this one may be my favorite. Zero Waste features a recycled spoon bottle opener. This is merely brilliant!

Now, what can I make with my stash of spoons?

How about you? Do you have any great ideas to add to this list?
