When you apply this scrub, the sugar melts as you massage it into your skin, and it leaves you feeling refreshed. Once you’ve rinsed the off scrub, your skin will feel a bit oily but that's soon absorbed once you pat yourself dry with a towel.
If you make yourself a batch, be sure to store it in a glass jar that is big enough for you to re-stir it easily. The oil does settle over time, so you’ll want to whip it around quickly to blend it again.
The scent options for this body scrub are endless. Try using vanilla extract instead of essential oil. Grab some masons jars, print out some crafty labels, and wrap some jute twine around it for a sweet, simple handmade gift.
Ingredients:
1/2 C. white, granulated sugar
1/2 C. white, granulated sugar
2 C. brown sugar
1/2 C. Safflower oil (this can be substituted with olive or coconut oil)
1 Tbsp honey
20 drops essential oil (I used Lavender Oil)
Directions:
1. Combine and mix both sugars until they are blended.
2. Stir in oil until it’s completely incorporated.
3. Add and stir in honey.
4. Add essential oil, and stir until well combined.
5. Transfer the scrub into a glass jar and you’re done!
Easy!

This looks amazing, but I think I'm gonna go eat some cookies now that you've made me crave brown sugar sweetness! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I think I'll go eat some ice cream now that you've mentioned cookies!
DeleteHi from the Etsy blog team! Mmmm, this looks like something that would go on top of coffee cake or something. I bet it feels amazing. I've always wanted to try something like this, definitely saving this on Pocket to try out!

ReplyDeletewhat is the shelf life on this?
ReplyDeleteTechnically, about 2 months. However, I've had some on a shelf in my shower since late November, using a little bit at a time, and it's still great.
